About Us
Serving the Haitian people with the love of Christ, for Christ's love!
Haiti International Alliance (HIA) is a Christian, faith-driven, family-founded organization dedicated to transforming lives in Haiti through ministries rooted in compassion, empowerment, and the unconditional love of Christ. Continuing the legacy of Dr. Pastor Jean Rigaud Amilcar Antoine and Melande Antoine, HIA serves vulnerable and marginalized communities through a holistic model that nurtures both the spiritual and physical well-being of God’s people.

Our Story
Dr. Pastor Jean Rigaud Amilcar Antoine is a devoted servant of God, a visionary leader, and a builder of people and communities. Rooted deeply in his Christian faith, he dedicated his life to uplifting the Haitian people through ministry, education, compassion, and transformational service. Alongside his wife, Melande Antoine and their eight children, he has built a legacy that continues to impact thousands of lives across Haiti and beyond. Born with a profound calling to serve, Pastor Antoine became known not only as a pastor, but as a spiritual father, educator, community developer, humanitarian, and advocate for the most vulnerable. His ministry was guided by the belief that faith must be expressed through both love and action—and that the Gospel compels us to care for one another in tangible, life-giving ways.
In 1984, Pastor Antoine and Melande founded Bethlehem Evangelical Baptist Church in Port-au-Prince. What began as a small gathering quickly grew into a thriving congregation, expanding beyond the capacity of its early meeting place. Recognizing their impact, the Haitian government granted land for the church and its future expansion—a testament to Pastor Antoine’s integrity, leadership, and community influence. Today, the church serves roughly 2,000 worshippers each week.
Understanding that education is the foundation of empowerment, Pastor Antoine and his wife founded Collège Jean Rigaud Antoine (CJRA) in 1985, followed later by Collège Jean Caleb Antoine (CJCA). These schools opened doors for countless children in underserved communities, offering academic training, spiritual formation, and the hope of a better future. When fully complete, CJRA will be able to serve up to 2,500 students.
In 2003, moved by the suffering of abandoned and orphaned children, the Antoines opened their home to the first two orphans—birth of what later became Wayòm Timoun / Kingdom of Kids Orphanage. Today, the orphanage houses more than 100 children, providing safety, nutrition, education, medical care, and loving family support. It is a licensed crèche, successfully placing numerous children into Christian adoptive homes each year.
After the devastating 2010 earthquake, Pastor Antoine responded once again to urgent need. He established Rapha Clinic, offering low-cost and free medical services to families who could not afford care. Later, Institut Médical Melande Antoine was added to provide technical and medical education for aspiring Haitian health workers.
His ministry extended into community development projects in La Saline and Jerusalem, including new church buildings, school expansions, and plans for a hospital and additional orphanage facilities.
