This 650,000 year-old rhyolite is the largest flow in the Clear Lake field. It emanates from an arcuate belt 11 km. long, likely a fissure vent, and flows northward toward Clear Lake, a few kilometers to the north. The outcrop exposes near-vertical banded obsidian interlayered with lighter pumice.
